CHRISTMAS

So we go to the celebration times ... as i look at it...
this season should be used to responsibly formulate new spiritual renovation
with positive thoughts, after all for much, this all about a Birth, a change.
(exacerbated consumption is good for the sales, hence economy...
but not for the erratic troubled egos management out here,  and also it has to be real!)

"patience, we are all human" isn't enough, we are always looking after an excuse,
that covers us from damage actions....
with lots of the people with such an amazing access to information (and still growing...)
its no longer "their responsibility" its time defy new challenges and to turn the tables.

New time times, new ways: future holds us, whatever we stand for.
So, if you want the climate to change, peace in a country, new politics, sales to grow
you (perhaps sadly) have to be committed and contribute with your own powerful agenda.

The best gift is still your own goals and achievements specially
if they are shared with a both side benefit....

If this is the case happy holiday season ! Merry Christmas!

---------------------------------------------------

It is true that we are always surrounded by violence throughout the world. It is true that our lives are not the same .... but after those events in Paris,a  barbarian killing  , what should be done? More control, more intelligence, close borders, hence having less freedom?
What to do with new waves of migrants?
What we, Europeans, should demand from Europe, especially to the political and economic class?
Show strength? Have individual country retaliation?

If there really is a single Europe then it should exist one voice and strong response altogether with other countries that make efforts to eliminate terrorism.
No country can say that this is not of their concerns.

Very  and truly sorry with these acts and Europe.

WHAT IS IN 'STEAK' ?

#WHO has published an alert over meat..... processed, red..... etc

 http://www.iarc.fr/en/media-centre/pr/2015/pdfs/pr240_E.pdf

this will be an ax on the fast food chains and general animal production

nowadays food represents one of the key factors for citizens health influence, either for the best or worse; We all know that society has demanded quantity rather than quality....
Quantity for the lots humans to be fed and also at an affordable price....  though its redundancy..... this has a price...
Chemicals, antibiotics  are abundant in intensive animal (either meat or fish) production and growing and general food production (ADN modified cereals.... golden rice.... #monsanto etc.); though in EU there are lots of regulations and control, we all know that there are always 'someone'  escaping from the regulatory , usually benefiting markets rather than citizens. Sorry, but i don't trust in the results made by regulatory institutions and their standards as an whole.

Of course that Economy will be affected upon these news, there must be somehow some balance and diversification (as in finance products, if you will..)

One preventive measure would be clarification about the information that get to the citizens at e.g. the packages....which usually are misinformed. "Made in EU" is simply not enough, besides, there are lots of schemes and scams in order to get the 'Made in EU' stamp, where doubtful entities create fiscal offices and import all or almost all of their production from out of regulation countries (or less demanding ones).

I will continue to eat meat but surely with an added view to balance, having in mind that there's a lot in "steak"....

WEEK after WEEK .... too WEAK (the formula)

THE EU as an institution has huge problems;

 THE DIAGNOSIS in 6

1 -  "the name"
European isn't really an union;

2- "leaders wanted"
There isn't really an inspiring leader, that has the rhetoric and guts to face worlds convulsions;

3-"services vs production"
lots of new generation citizens aren't prepared to engage in productive companies, the labor force is weakened in such skills, or transferred to cheap labor regions (the emerging countries usually...).

4-"lets go public"
a) Privatize as much as the markets demand, has been the destruction of powerful industries, Europe can't depend so much on faceless markets;
b) Markets want profits , efficiency and returns (as it any companies should);
c)Buy (with huge loans) in "hope" to get more efficiency and to reduce the user payed goods, i.e. cheaper labor hand, very flexible laws and rules.... ( no or small investment in R&D to do this); d)If consumption decreases, there goes the cuts in HR, layoffs, or bankruptcy; Markets are like parasites... has long there are hosts to live from..... financial products like futures are mostly intangible ... there's no future without a sustained present....

5-"tax payers vs citizens"
in order to face management errors, like huge money throw away to construction (essentially by buildings that have no return, social, cultural, commercial i.e. the so called public investment), the final invoice is addressed to citizens as taxes, hence they refrain their consumption which take us  to my last point 4d)

6-"the paradise is a mirage "
corruption is the pinnacle of promiscuous relationships; Unfortunately is installed, even the so called strong democracies have it (lobbying is also on the edge of it); At first were more prone the fragile societies that accepted all kinds of kicks in order to obtain their e.g. dictator  huge profits. Now its all over....industry, sports, governments, health, banking.... you name it. So, this distribution of wealth is just as wrong as unfair, but markets willingly accepted..... because they get faster to their goals.

SOLUTIONS for the 6

1-The name: EUROPE FEDERATION

2-The leader: Don't care if is #Hollande, #Merkel, #CR7 #DavidBeckam or #Berlusconi; There must be one voice inside EU (fiscal, economic, defense, health, education), a president that has the power to decide upon democratic rules approved in the parliament; NO bilateral agreements; 1 Spoken Language, don't care if is portuguese, german, english or esperanto....  (ok Mr #Junker?)

3- Educate to prosper, in the middle ages people were denied information; Now "they" spill trash info, or wrong one; Industry skills must be emphasized and payed in a fair sustained fashion.

4-No longer wild carded Market dependencies, this is a philosophic choice and political; Citizen must be the focus; "Yes, but the citizens" , instead of "Yes but the markets"; Unbalanced market the drive citizens to nowhere isn't Capitalism is an outlaw jungle,

5- Governments should be responsible for their acts in the shape of a federation or not; The supposed scrutiny done to the program should be consequent specially in what comes to expenditure, so it would have a more serious commitment of the elected MPs.

6- Values change enforcement, there must be a rigorous preventive measures to avoid corruption; i've a got a basic theory for it... "if your cat is fed, there's no need to climb the table".... Companies should have a compulsory fund (that would be financed by an existent tax .... such as profit, that by one side it would work as an insurance and/or could be used for direct (but supervised) investment in tech development, R&D and Intellectual property, or employees training; Governors shouldn't be allowed to have conflictual double interests, such as lawyers societies and MPs; Power to empowered: no such shadow organizations masonry, opus dei,  Illuminati, mafia,  etc should influence strategy plans of an institution/ country... could there be a defense program for that?

would these be enough? no.... but it should be a start.
please Mr/ Mrs Europe solve the case of refugees is such a shame and is a reflection of passivity due to bad leadership.

Talking =/ Acting. (in this isolated subject, take some lessons from #Putin)

what is your move ?

"-its your turn now..."

while some play chess, other die.

this geopolitical warfare makes me sick; these institutions have no power to lead
a true citizen protection. Anyone who assists TV news, can be easily puzzled,
either on trying to understand motivations as for the results.

Regarding Syria, I don't know nothing of religion, but it has nothing to do
with it... at the end is just power..... Iran treat it as if it were a Shiite colony ,while
taking the President an "hostage"; Syrian President wants to get reed of its opposition,
i.e Sunnis, Alawites (which for Iran is a plus); Putin is taking its opportunity to justify
and show that is a problem solver (though taking part on Assad while selling both sides weapons), and how he could be seen in Crimea, and that he is a belligerent with means (power show),
and for it he would want for instance a step-down in west sanctions

Is West playing?
yes... but Obama is a Nobel prize.... so is war refrained. EU as an whole doenst take bold and fast decisions,  UN and OTAN ... hostages of its own members.

I must confess that the price and results of not having
strategic preventive peaceful war (if such exists) can result in
deadly dangerous wars in the mean - long term.

"next move"

THE PEARL jam

Are you looking for the pearl in your life? Are you sure you know what to do with it?
well most people guess they don't; but they were not taught to, so whats in it to blame?
if we are just chemistry reaction, we can't blame ourselves for nothing, synapses are different from each brain.  If we are a reaction of our environment, then our environment is sick; We can measure and analyse life from different angles, but that shouldn't serve us as an excuse to don't balance nor getting proper global answers that fits us all as (at least) human beings.

Careful with what you wish for.

(recommend easy to read the Pearl from Nobel Prize John Steinbeck)

MIND, SET ... GO!

For all the athletes out here that train 6 -8h / day, but, above all, leave every sweat drop in the field, fighting for a goal, in a clean fashion, my congrats.

Specially for this Portuguese triple jumper NELSON EVORA, Olympic Beijing gold medalist 2008 that has been, unfortunately due to several injuries and surgical  interventions out of its top world best.  But after a 7 year hard path he have reached one more podium, a lesson to be learned and put in action by many.

Training and fighting for goals is important, but mindset is also key to achieve hard targets, as in sport as in common life.

Congrats NELSON ÉVORA, a true example in sport,
see you in 2016 BRASIL Olympics fighting for the podium again!

Desire ?

Mainstream wanted citizen wishes, as mundane desires, most surely lead to emptiness; no wonder there are so many shallow short thought, with no ideal to (at least) follow.

But now i'll just shut up, and go to another party, in some private paradise island, flying private jet airplane, where i'll have my DB10 Aston Martin waiting, using my "spero lucem" watch, suited in by De La Renta, and unsuited by a lot ... most probably i'll not know a single soul in the next day and be alone the rest of that day... fortunately i've made some businesses and met some presidents.... until the next party.

here are some 80's.....

Eyes wide shut

Is such an hypocrisy, what is happening in the world: lets take these latest refugees scenario; there should be a strong unison voice (at least from Europe), that would allow by one side help migrants despair, and the other to maintain peace, democratic values and overall countries sustainability.  This is happening and ignoring it, won't solve the present issues and future unbalance  problems. Of course no one want's its economical or social situation being damaged by unsolved foreign problems, of curse no one wants terrorism enter in their homes, of course anyone wants the sense of security with its rights (and duty's) kept..... but, are we not living in the same planet? Leaders and citizens have simultaneously the responsibility to search for solutions and to show what anyone's true desires are.
Anyway... first things first, when international institutions and countries have the political and economical will, preserving the citizen /human being requirements and hence rights, then the root of the question will start to get an answer, but time is getting consumed; Doing nothing and let each of the countries solve these problems by themselves, surely will not be an answer.

Unbalance mode

Which weight should be given priority to, in order to develop some more balanced strategy?
(yes... still on Europe with Greek focus matter).
I mean,  by one side there are hidden agendas ( not talking about conspiracy whatsoever! , mainly greed as key motivation) institutions, bureaucracy, agreements etc, by the other (perhaps) ideals, political agendas.... in the middle citizens. If there's some sort of communication problem, its urgent to keep talking preferentially with a genuine translator, with no preconceived ideas (if its possible)

Poor you, if you are lack of ideas and ideals.... but poorer if you have put trust in bad leaders.

To B or not to B - King

if everything was as simple as music..... there are persons who perhaps should be Presidents, Ministers, Kings, and unfortunately are not. Today the living King of blues left us, with the burden of so many blues lyrics that life brought to him and to many other outhere.

Culture is a value to be treasured, governments should definitely pay more attention to it.

Long live the King.

Eg(g)o

Mental note ... to remind myself that easter, should be a time for reflection and refrain consumption voracity.... we really can't tell what is beneath our skin until we get to the next layer.... at this onion peeling like lifetime, where each layer is taken faster than the previous, there's seems to be an amorphous rules set for humans, that more than ever, doesn't seem to fit  or adapt easily to person mundane needs. Being or remaining original not easy due to constant marketing bombing (almost) all over;  Just get real.

POeTRY day - Black old death

Black old Death
It smells like mold here
My unrestless thin fingers
Carved through my skin
With swiveling eyes in fear.

Perhaps I didn’t care
For the burning body
That alone left its soul
Lied in the misty despair.

It took a long while
Until the black cloak
Covered my sight
As concealing my smile.

Patiently felt my bones to walk
And shacked up the dust
Brought from the deep
Where voices slept scream and talk

Who was that unknown shadow?
The worst seek nightmare?
Or merely a passenger fellow?
That simply stood and stare.

I flew over and around
Felt against my face a breeze
And drops of blood I found
They were thoughts I squeeze
From a cold freezing night
That insisted to come in a dream
At the dawn over the light
As a black mask in Venice stream.

Through such oil dark paint
I let it join and sing for me
For nothing: just sound and faint
As an owl, I waited and intent see.

Time

As Aristoteles foresighted, in my personal point of view, and as a conclusion, all citizens should have, by default, an highly degree of freedom and for that should be responsible and their leaders as well. The problem is that we can't have unbalanced weights in the same scale. Lets take tyranny forms/shapes in any way, mostly have resulted in decayed societies; Even the greatest empires didn't last, because at some point someone lost their focus on what was essential at that time, being that efforts on technology development, army defense, or leisure. Whats the point of having power in the hands if that  sames hands are full of dirt and disrespect for the basics.
I don't believe in fairy tales, but todays disproportions can only bring suffering (.... ) Drucker (management consultant) seen it in the industry context, where he discoursed about the huge salary gaps between workers at a same organization in the XX century, that would undermine the path of such unit and hence, globally, societies. ( and this just one bit of an issue....)
So what could be done? How to teach someone to refrain its power and greed desires, if even the controlling institutions can't assume their role and  mostly have doubtful and promiscuous relations with their pairs. By the way, what is a modern society? Where do go democracies? Are citizens aware enough to get empowered to be heard?

Even the great leader and visionary has to be humble to see by the citizens eyes.

EU ( means I in Portuguese )

New changes on the way, as new thinkers get inpowered. (lets take Greek example)
What is the meaning of such changes? what will this bring to people?
I really don't have a formed opinion about Syriza (far left wing greek party); for what
i've seen in the news, i'm not very keen on someone that promises to break international
commitments.
One could question if present economy models are society/state sustainable,
or deeper, if markets should control much of societies (this is just a personal conviction) .... but...
couldn't there be some new good ideas to make persons independent of such exploiters?

My true billion dollar question would be "what would be a credible alternative, that could develop economy without jeopardizing people's wishes and requirements?" - well, this would demand at least an honest answer.

I believe that this will have repercussions on EU countries, some early followers will have their chance to call themselves to the process where some populism will prevail, nevertheless of the major buzzwords they have.
Austerity has many faces.... if by one side there are public/private overweight on spending, over credit, by the other controlling institutions, markets, banks and other .... let this happen and it was under the legal umbrella. This promiscuous relation between give and take should be balanced ....
Well mentalities have to change....current rules are not enough and sin for being arrested by old fashioned models.
I vote favourably for economic development to achieve peoples wishes (general growth, better wages, employment, education, healthcare, protection to unprotected elderly, children and disabled), but no citizen should be arrested for its supposed good demands.
Watching the overall scene and  north european countries behaviour.... more then ever EU will have the Portuguese meaning of "I", the selfish optic side of the europeans.... which in fact is the opposite of what the European project should be..... as i've said before true leaders wanted.....badly!

2015, ARE YOU THERE?

it seems that a new year began ... there are some uncertainties on the way
such as oil and currencies balance, critic politic and diplomatic affairs and decisions are on schedule. USA has become independent from middle east oil, and is now exporting, also unfortunately to europe.... they still can't figure a way to safely drive EU... a bunch of countries that can't stick together as a sole institution/ nation.... will never have the strength to set their international agenda.... neither the resources....at least will take too much time and money.

So much more standardized ways of thinking are expected ....... hope this doesn't affect the innovators and entrepreneurs!

WELCOME 2015 - forecast for 2015 (see also 2014)
1st people are more aware-- social networks and new media support are spreaded ... more than ever.... spread of knowledge or stupidity.

2nd these same people for themselves realise more that
can't rely and be so states/ government dependents -- new movements that can be citizens genuine representatives are on the way and be shaped by left and right wingers (.....?)

3rd New players are creating their agenda and with it societies will have to adapt to it, for instance "new" foreign languages teaching - my 14 year old niece asked my opinion if she should select mandarin or german as 2nd language... so this is a fact.

4th New tech advances in hardware (nanotech advances) and augmented reality will bring new breakthrough opportunities in how people relate with machines  and with each other. Increasing tailored made productive systems.
--- sure... we can 3d print almost everything ... thats an huge advance in product development.

5th There are also some uncertainties in what consumption concerns. --- Can't figure if BRICS can sustain world economic grow.... corruption undermine the path (for all present societies) and can easily change BRICS to brics

all in all .....i'm still pessimist .... bah..... to me :P
